Jorge Alberto Trujillo Limones, a visionary visual artist born on November 14, 1987, in Mexico City, is a graduate of the Faculty of Arts and Design at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He is a specialist in painting and photography, with an extensive academic and professional background that includes a residency at the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain in 2009, and studies at the Active School of Photography in Mexico.
Over the past decade, Trujillo has distinguished himself in the plastic and visual arts through more than twenty solo and collective exhibitions, such as "Cenizas vivas" at the Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City in 2013. He has also contributed to various collective projects across audiovisual, television, and design spheres and has curated artistic and cultural events both domestically and abroad.
Recognized for his artistic merit, Trujillo was a recipient of the Young Creators artistic production scholarship from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) in 2010-2011, specializing in Visual Arts-Painting. His work has garnered multiple honors and awards in video, cinema, and photography.
As an educator and lecturer, he has been an academic at UNAM for the past four years, imparting knowledge and coordinating various publications. His works are included in both public and private collections and have been featured in various media interviews.
Notable awards and distinctions in his career include an Honorable Mention at the "4th University Short Film Tour" for the short film "Moneda al aire" in Mexico City (2009), Second Place at the "3rd Malva-Rosa Professional Short Film Contest" in Valencia, Spain (2009), and other honors in Spain and Mexico for his contributions to film and photography.
His remarkable exhibitions span from "Séptima Muestra de Arte del Grupo Reforma" at Polyforum Siqueiros, Mexico City (2014), to "Between Utopia and Dystopia" at the University Museum of Contemporary Art (MUAC) (2011), and international displays in Brussels, Belgium (2007).
In addition to his creative endeavors, Trujillo has been involved in set design in Mexico and Spain and has served as an assistant to artists like Cai Guo-Qiang, Rikrit Tiravanija, and Tsuyoshi Osawa. He is the general director and co-founder of the cultural cooperative Ciervo Rojo Art Studio.
Currently residing and working in Mexico City, Trujillo continues to influence the contemporary art scene with his innovative projects and educational contributions.
